My wife, son, and I spent Christmas 2006 in Saigon. It has been exactly 40 years since my last Christmas in Vietnam. I spent Christmas 66 on patrol near Dodge City. New Year 66/67 was a night recon patrol - the medic got really drunk. I slept on my back in the rain. Nothing happened, so it was a good night. This Christmas was much better. In 2006 I was awakened in the middle of the night by 8-10 drunken Australian carolers. At midnight (my son says it was at 2am), they sang their last song, "For He's A Jolly Good Fellow!"
