Phnom Penh is good for a one day visit on your way to Siem Reap. Russian market aka Psah Toul Tom Poung is an interesting visit, so's the royal palace, Tou Sleng and river front walk. The Floating Village showcases real Cambodian life with a sprinkling of Vietnamese people thrown in for good measure... Travel Tip #1 : If u plan to visit the floating village(a great break from 'Angkor Disney' ttp://www.worldisround.com/articles/323928/index.html), do it evening, the whole village is a hive of activity, it's much cooler and the sunset over the lake is simply sensational... Travel Tip #2 : Don't follow the travel book's suggested itinerary(you are bound to buy one, trust me).. EVERYONE has the same book, so forget the quiet sunset spots that no one's supposed to know about.. Travel Tip #3 : Beware in Phnom Penh, cons happen everywhere.. Travel Tip #4 : forget the national museum, it's a rip off in my books, but Friends restaurant is great place for food,
