Palace Square with Alexander's Column and the General Staff Building. Alexander's Column is the largest free standing column in the world. It is made from a single block of granite weighing 600 tonnes. It is not attached to anythng it is simply balanced on the enormous plinth and held in place by its own weight. Quite an achievement.
