One of the most spectacular sights in northern India is the Amber Fort, a few miles outside of Jaipur. We've been there twice, and the second time was as interesting and rewarding an experience as the first. Thousands of craftsmen took 200 years to build this impressive palace which was completed in 1592, exactly 100 years after Columbus 'discovered' America.

The fort sits dramatically up on a high hill, and the main way to get up there is by elephant back, always a wonderful adventure! And when you finally do get up there - oh, what views you get looking around, looking out, and even looking inside. Come, see what I mean.
