Emu Park, is home of the famous Singing Ship Monument, and is found on the Capricorn Coast, about 44klms east of the City of Rockhampton, Central Queensland. Emu Park is 19 klms south of the township of Yeppoon, and overlooks the islands of Keppel Bay, including the world famous Great Keppel Island.

The first European to visit this place was Captain James Cook who sailed past the area between 25 May and 27 May 1770. He experienced some difficulty with the shallowness of the water.
