Want to know why "cashews" ...<br> Panama picture - are so expensive??? This is the fruit, which can also be eaten when ready. The extension, or nut,that you see underneeth the fruit, is what holds the cashew. Yes, there is ONLY ONE cashew per fruit. The cashew as to be picked, then roasted, as you can not eat the cashew right off the tree, We were told that, if you were to try and eat it..... it would burn your mouth.
