Córdoba was conquered by the Castilian king Fernando III in the year 1236, and the mosque was used as Christian cathedral. A gothic church with Reanaissance elements was built inside the mosque in centuries XV and XVI. At present, the building is known as the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba.
