By the time of his conquest by the Castilians, his shine had, however, decayed very much. C&#243;rdoba never reached the relevance of Seville or Toledo in the Spanish Christian world of the Middle Age, but was still important enough to merit the honour of a royal palace. That was the Alc&#225;zar of the Christian Kings, emplaced just a few metres from the mosque-cathedral. </div></nolayer></noembed>
