In 1952, Vernon Pick, an amateur prospector, discovered uranium in the south end of the San Rafael Swell in Utah. He named it The Hidden Splendor. My wife and I, along with our two dogs went camping for a couple of nights on a bluff above Muddy Creek near The Hidden Splendor mine. Pick made 10 million dollars from The Hidden Splendor.
