The little red curtain to the left of The Altar is in front of the aumbry or cupboard where the Blessed Sacrament is kept to take to the sick in case of emergency. The lamp is burning as a reminder. To the right of The Altar is a door leading to the Vestry and to the right of that, in the wall, is a double piscina which is a sink for the cleansing of the sacred vessels.
