The Tower<br> Villages in Somerset picture - The Tower is of a very early date and the foundations existed before the 13th century. There are two theories as regards it's shape. One is that it's top was blown off in the great storm of 1703. The other is that in medieval times, the sea came closer to Porlock and a light was placed on the top to guide ships into the harbour.
