I visited the new archeol. museum while in Athens last month, it is large and modern and impressive, but terribly crowded, of course! I think it will be excellent when more fully developed. It was within walking distance of our hotel, the Athens Gate (I recommend it highly!)

believe the new museum is down below the Acropolis, it just opened June 20, 2009.

There is now a new museum on the Acropolis, I think it just opened! Wish I could see some pictures of IT!! This is March, 08.
