The Star Ferry brings people from Kowloon to Hong Kong Island. The seatbacks are connected to the benches, but you can move them back and forth, depending on which direction you want to face. This way, the ferry doesn't have to turn around to switch directions, and people don't have to sit backwards if they don't want to.
