We passed through a variety of landscapes: steep-sided river valleys lined with landslides, hushed forests of pines and blooming rhodedendrons, broad plains with the Annapurnas looming above, and rocky, barren trails above the treeline and still covered with snow. This amphitheatre-like rock face - the Swargadwari Danda and the Pangdi Danda - was particularly impressive.
