France - Paris May 2004 Sightseeing in Paris - travel photos - Paris, the city of lights, was every bit as beautiful and as romantic as I thought it...
Paris, the city of lights, was every bit as beautiful and as romantic as I thought it would be. When I first stepped out to explore the city, I was surrounded by the sense of history and grandeur that was Paris. I was mesmerized when the Eiffel tower was lit up at night. The French capital is not just about historic neighbourhoods. La Defense is probably one of the most spectacular new business districts I have seen. There were some downsides during my visit - things were very expensive, I did not do enough research to sample great French cuisine and some people (including some people in the service industry) were not too friendly. However, what Paris offers far far outweigh any negatives I had encountered. I was also very fortunate to have nice weather during my 5 day visit. My colleague Sharon recommended me to get the Paris museum pass. It worked very well as it allowed you to skip the long line-ups just to pay the entrance at some attractions. Another wonder was the chunnel and the high speed train linking London and Paris. It seems so easy to go from one great city to the next one in only three hours! Like my London photos, I took these photos with a film camera and I scanned these photos mainly from negatives.
