May 9th is a big holiday in Moscow.The Russians celebrate their victory in World War 2 on this day. It is a day of commemoration, services and parades.

The biggest parade is held on Red Square with around 10 000 soldiers taking part. Alot of the streets around the centre of the city are blocked off.

In the evening, there are fireworks at a number of places. The photos here are of the fireworks with the Kremlin in the picture. The crowds were quite large along the Moscow River where we took these photos from.
