I took a half day trip to Hoover Dam during my Las Vegas vacation. It is a good getaway from Las Vegas as the tour brought us past through the residential areas of Vegas and very scenic areas surrounding the city. The suburban houses are quite different from the ones in Alberta as the weather is so different. They have red clay shingles and desert dry landscape in their houses.
