Sucre was our third stop in Bolivia after Copacabana and La Paz. It is without doubt one of the most spectacular and beautiful cities I have seen. The architecture in the city centre is Spanish colonial with French flavour, all whitewashed every year as per government edict. Hence this beautiful city is called La Ciudad Blanca or the white city. The whitewashed walls contrast sharply with the clear blue Bolivian sky. The citizens of Sucre are friendly and helpful; and the Bolivian cuisine is hearty and delicious. Although most government functions are in La Paz, Sucre is still the constitutional capital of Bolivia. The Supreme Court of Bolivia is in Sucre as well. No wonder that UNESCO declared Sucre a world heritage site. In addition to the city, I also joined a tour to the Dinosaur footprint areas. What I did mainly was just to walk around the city soaking in the atmosphere and enjoy its beautiful streets. The city also offers many fine chocolate stores and crafts stores. My heart will always have a place for Sucre. I hope I will return one day.
