The Tripolia Gate is located (on the left) in this courtyard. Popular elephant fights were staged in this courtyard until 1951, the year Mewar joined independent India. There are oblong depressions on the western side of the courtyard were they used to park the elephants. The 20 elephant stables are unoccupied today (thank gawd).
