I have very mixed feelings towards Tijuana. On the one hand, it is indeed a very rowdy, and honestly ugly touristy border city. Many people get very unfavourable image of Mexico because of Tijuana. You will be pestered to buy things as soon as you go to Revolution Avenue - the main area for tourists. On the other hand, Tijuana does boast some fine old buildings, particularly the Palacio Fronton on Revolution Avenue and the very impressive futuristic Tijuana cultural centre.
