Alpha is a little town located on the Capricorn highway about 150km east of Emerald. The town boasts 27 outstanding murals, each one depicting a different aspect of pioneering and contemporary rural life.

Alpha, was established in 1884 and is part of Jericho Shire, one of Queensland's largest cattle producing Shires. Located on the Capricorn Highway, its streets are named after poets, the main street Shakespeare Street.

It's a great place to stop and have a break from your journey.
