After Boston, my next destination was the big apple - New York City, another one of my top favourite American cities. New York city is vibrant, slightly gritty, energetic, full of architectural gems, interesting, expensive ... in short I was very glad to be able to visit this lovely city that have been featured countless times on TV and movies.

My bus trip from Boston was pretty eventful - it broke down during the first half of the journey. Then after half a day of visit to the world heritage Statue of Liberty, I experienced the black-out that lasted one and a half days. I almost could not get back to my hostel for that night. In addition, I was wearing a Niagara falls T-shirt when some people were trying to blame the black-out on Canada...fortunately, people turned out to be very friendly and helpful. Even one lady offered to provide me with a day of accommodation when she realized that I was backpacking. Please note that these photos were scanned.
