Here are a selection of fungi from the Tasmanian Rainforests that I recently visited. Most are from old growth forests or, at least, forests that were only selectively felled up to 100 years ago. Most of the brightly coloured fungi only live in old growth forests, so if the forests go, so do the huge diversity of beautiful fungi. Next time you are in an old forest in Autumn, spend some time looking at the ground and at fallen logs. You may be amazed by what you can see.
