Milan was my first stop after an overnight train ride from Barcelona. Milan is the financial capital of Italy with the impressive il Duomo and the elegant shopping arcade of Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele. Unfortunately the cathedral was covered in scaffolding under restoration during my visit. I found that the people were well dressed and presented themselves nicely in downtown Milan...In addition, the tour of the opulent Teatro alla Scala was very enjoyable.
