Elk Island is a national park of Canada. You can see bisons and elks – unfortunately a few times I was there I had no such luck. I think I have to go back in the evening or go on different trails for the best game viewing experience. The area surrounding Astotin Lake is quite scenic and is the focus of this article.

The Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village is quite close to this national park and both may be visited on the same day.
