Athens, the capital of Greece, was vibrant and energetic. Athens is quite different from other grand European cities I have visited – most of Athens is a modern concrete city with a bit of grit rather than having streets lined with grand architecture. That said, Athens has made it to be a favourite of mine with its interesting markets, food stalls serving delicious grilled meat, good museums, neo-classical Greek architecture and above all the majestic Parthenon. Getting around Athens is so easy with the slick metro system, which is connected to the airport. Please note that these photos were scanned by Walmart.
