Every Monday the small town of Shaping at the foot of the Cangshan mountains is overwhelmed with people from the surrounding villages. Many of them are Bai women dressed in traditional clothes. Only a small part of the market is for tourists. The local people who have been doing this all their lives come to buy and sell vegetables and livestock.
