The Standing Stones of Calanais
Scenery in Scotland picture - On the remote Isle of Lewis, this collection of stones is older than the more famous and more accessible Stonehenge. This is the largest of three sites of stones all within view of one another near the Atlantic coast of Lewis. The stones date to around 2600 BCE. Calanais is the Gaelic spelling of the location. Callanish is the more commonly known name.
