Another finalist in the big contest. It was the winner in another way: this was our Christmas card that year, the two of us standing in front of St. Basil's Cathedral in Red Square. We must have been better shoppers in those days. Instead of waiting in a very long line to visit Lenin preserved in his tomb, we walked across the Square to see what was for sale in the equally famous G.U.M. department store!
