If you walk down the wall for about a quarter mile from the Badaling entrance, the most visited site if you come from Beijing, you'll find an area where the wall is almost completely eroded. Less than one third of the wall is in good condition. Time and human wear and tear have done their damage in the two thousand years since the Wall was built.
