Mysterious Similan Island, Thailand

Similan Islands (Muu Ko Similan) - are referred to as Ko Kao or Nine Islands. True to its name (which actually originates from the Malay word sembilan for nine), there are a total of nine islands with each island given a designated number along with a name. These are the islands in order: Ko Bon, Ko Ba-Ngu, Ko Similan, Ko Payu, Ko Miang (which is made up of two islands close to each other), Ko Payan, Ko Payang, and Ko Hu Yong.

My Camera
I was so worried about my camera become mystical screen & stopped taking photos............ but when I left the rock, my camera become normal again ! Very strange.......... Impossible caused by mist or haze because it was hot & the air was very fresh & clear. But the effect not bad also la, feel like in 'dream' & the scene in MTV......... Luckily my camera back to normal !!!

3 Days Trip
Wesak Day Special: 12-14 May, 2006, RM499 inclusive 2 breakfast, 2 lunch, 2 dinner and snorkeling trip.

On Day 1, Left Penang by chartered van. On the way, we stopped over for breakfast and to change money, at Changloon. Then we crossed the border into Thailand. After a short while, we passed Hatyai, and then continued our way northeast. We also explored Phang Nga. Dinner & overnight in Phang Nga.

On Day 2, after breakfast, we continued on our journey to Similan, a group of islands that is famous among snorkelers and divers. We found that most of the visitors of Similan are Westerners, as not many Malaysians go this far north. The Thai government has imposed strict condition to entry into Similan so as to keep the islands pristine. We had a whole day to snorkel in Similan and to enjoy the lovely scenery there.

On Day 3, we began our journey back. We explored the Phang Nga National Park, noted for James Bond Island.

Nice place but long journey.... Departed from PG at 5am, reached Phang Gga Hotel at 3pm. From hotel to port another 1 hour drive, from port to Similan Islands another 1.5 hours....
