Frejus cathedral
Sightseeing in The Riviera picture - Frejus is a town of over 50,000 that can boast the oldest religious structure still in use in France. The cathedral of St Leonce, built in early Provencal gothic style dates to the 11th century, its cloisters date to the 12th, but the round baptistry to which it is attached is some 600 years older! There are numerous partial Roman ruins in Frejus, including an arena, theatre, and aqueduct. There are also a Buddhist pagoda and a mosque.
