Volubilis is about 31 kilometers from Maknes. This was one of the far flung settlements of Roman empire and the name was probably derived from the Berber (Original People of Morocco)word 'QUALILI' (the name of the Oleander plant)and was a main economic source for the Rome by way of the Olive oil.
