Here are some photos from both Quito and the province of Imbaburra, about 2 hours north of Quito. The area is high in the Andes mountains and is the only place in the world where you can see snow on the Equator. Quito is a very long and narrow city of about 2 million people, with a historic centre and like many South American cities, poorer outer suburbs. The airport is smack in the middle of the city.
