"Chacarita and The Old Neighborhood"

Today was a nice tranquil day spent walking through the huge Chacarita Cementary and my father's old neighborhoood where he grew up and lived. Our morbid curiosity continues to be fed, especially Bridget's by these old Spanish style cemetaries. She can't seem to get enough of them. We tried to search in vain for my Grandfathers vault but no luck. You needed all kinds of dates and there was a myriad of paper work you have to go through to find them (extremely archaic for this day and age). None the less we had a lot's of fun trying to find it on our own, which of course was ridiculous in this huge ocean of vaults and mauseloums. We then headed up to Caballito to the neigborhood where my father grew up and lived with his two sisters and two brothers. It is also the area where I was born. It was nice strolling through the quiet residential areas and briging up old memories. We stopped on Gaona and Fragata Sarmiento, the street where my aunt lived for many years, to pick up a picnic lunch to go. Bridget was dying to try a Choripan, the classic Argentine sausage sandwiches. We found this place the cooks them fresh on their little parrilla (See Picture) and we were in heaven (see more pictures). We found a chessboard table in Plaza Irlanda and another unforgettable meal in Buenos Aires. We took the crowded 106 Collectivo back home and later on met my uncle and his wife for a lovely regional Argentine cuisine dinner at "La Querencia" the nice restaurant down the block where we have eaten before and like very much.

Anna: We got your message and we often think about you imagining what it would be like with you and Terri here!!
