This is the third and last set of pictures from our Bangkok trip. We made a day trip from Bangkok to visit Ayutthaya, the old and first capital of the nation.
The kingdom of Ayutthaya existed from 1350 to 1767. King Ramathibodi I (King U-Thong) founded Ayutthaya as the capital of his kingdom in 1350. Over the next four centuries the kingdom expanded to become the nation of Siam, whose borders were roughly same as modern Thailand.
