Traveling across Moroccos ever-changing landscape is an awesome experience. The Saharan Camel Caravans would take months, if not years, to cross Morocco and reach the souks of Marrakech; but now, in just one day, it's possible to drive over high mountain passes and along the Draa River Valley to watch the sun set over the slowly shifting sands of the Moroccan Sahara desert at Erg Chigaga; and it's here that you will find the semi-nomadic Berbers of the Ait Atta tribe.
For me, the desert is a special place and I especially love to visit the wilderness of Erg Chigaga; protected from the development of hotels to preserve the environment and culture of the Ait Atta Berbers.
These photographs were take in July 2007.
