Sightseeing in Saskatchewan picture - treaty & the names of their leaders appear on the monument. Between 2000 & 3000 Indians had gathered for the ceremony & had set up camp in the flats & coulees of the valley, where they pow-wow'd & parlayed (= talked, in French) for several days before the ceremony, & raised serious objections on several occasions. The treaty, which was to be signed on September 8, was finally signed on the 15th.
