Berchtesgaden was our base for exploring the Lake Konigsee region and Salzburg, Austria. To see Lake Konigsee we took the boat ride to Salet. It was a short walk to Lake Obersee, a smaller lake. Away from the lake, we enjoyed the pretty town of Berchtesgaden with bands and dance groups performing in traditional dress. We also visited the Konigsee fishery and hiked through the Almblachklamm gorge (sorry, no photos of the gorge because it was raining when we did that - but I highly recommend it.)
