We decided to vacation in Berchtesgaden, Germany because we thought our children would especially enjoy the trick water fountains at Hellbrunn and we wanted to explore the beautiful area that surrounds Salzburg and Berchtesgaden. Our children, ages 14, 12 and 9 especially enjoyed the trick water fountains. I tried to avoid getting wet, but was unable to avoid it. This probably made the day even better for my children. I would not recommend the fountains to a family with very young children unless they enjoy getting wet and are old enough to understand what a joke is. I was able to take photos by only getting my camera out where the ground was dry. Besides Hellbrunn and Berchtesgaden (see my other article), we visited the fortress in Salzburg and a the Gollinger waterfall in Austria.
