Discovered in 1911, the blowholes at Quobba in Western Australia are located around 70 kilometres north of Carnarvon. A powerful jet of water is forced with terrific pressure through a hole in the rocks, sometimes to a height of 20 metres.

The lagoon with a nice beach is kilometre south of the blowholes, the lagoon is protected by a coral reef. The lagoon between the island and the beach contains tropical fish and shells.
