As you can see, there was still a lot of snow left in the mountains. The valley floors were clear but I did not have to climb too high before I was surrounded by it. In fact, the circular route from Mt Washburn to Yellowstone Lake was still closed and I had to turn around here and head back toward Mammoth Hot Springs.
