"Taxation without Representation!" Where have I heard that before? Of course, in relation to the War of Independence. Is it not ironic that US Congress, a body that exists as a direct result of war with Britain over the same principle, does not afford said rights to its home district?

But enough politics (for now). My penultimate destination in the USA was of course Washington DC. No historian or academic scholar can afford to miss a visit. In some respects, I was destined to come to DC. I was not disappointed.
