Some refer to the Gorge du Tarn as the Grand Canyon of France. The great thing about this canyon is that a beginner can canoe down the river. It was so beautiful we chose to canoe on two different days leaving from La Malene. We also visited Saint Enemie, the cave, Aven Armand, and Montpellier-le-Vieux, a park with beautiful rock formations. We stayed in a gite (rented rural home) for a week in the Spring of 2005.
