my dream, mi sueno, to visit the Salt flats in Bolivia finally came true and the Salar de Uyuni that I missed two years ago was finally here - and it is eerie, breathtaking and really seems out of this world.
The salt lake covers a huge area (12000 square km) and is one of the main salt mining areas in Bolivia. The last large lake dried up 8000 years ago, leaving this beautiful, bright white salt lake. The crisp, almost too-perfect to be real blue skies and the white lake gives a stark landscape that you just can't take your eyes off.
A definite, definite must see - and be prepared to be completely in awe.
