Torres del Paine: The Wonderland

Torres del Paine NP is one of the natural wonders of the world. This was the highlight of our trip to Chile. We had there five days of wonderful trekking through spectacular nature. I know I am not the first one writing about that (and not the last one) on this website. Since I made hundreds of photos in the place, I will try to avoid bothering you with the most typical views as much as possible. 1) The trails are generally in good condition, except certain passages through some creeks and passages in some steep morains. 2) The camps use to be in well sheletered places, protected against the ubiquitous wind. They differ from each other in such things as toilets, water for washing, ranger posts etc. Some are close to mountain hotels. If you have your own tent, the overnight is often free. 3) In total we made 50 miles, so our daily average was 10 miles, however, we were not in a hurry (we were on holidays, not on race...). 4) Unfortunately, I have no camp photos; they seemed to me quite standard and mostly well maintained.

Wow, what a beautiful place. It would be great to hear about the trails and camps you experienced, miles per day, how many people did you come across while in the backcountry, trail conditions, and maybe a photo or two of what the camps were like. Thank you for a wonderful article, it really shows the unique beauty of Torres del Paine.
