On the Ferragudo side, this overlooks the entrance to the Arade River. One evening when we were walking nearby my son and I watched a submarine practising maneuvers at the harbour entrance. We later found out that it was one the Portuguese had just purchased second-hand from Britain. I hope they had better luck with it than Canada had with theirs.
