Trees being felled on Pulau Jerejak
Trees are being massively uprooted on Jerejak Island ( towards the Penang Bridge Tip) Its an eyesore and a big wound on the beautiful and simple island. If authorities cannot maintain it, atleast dont allow builders and resorts to destroy it.

I had an uncle who was a warden on Jerejak in the late 70s. I remember visiting him and my aunt, staying over the wardens' quarters. I remember having a picture taken with my cousin at the jetty and on that concrete boat replica. Watching the island turn to this is really sad.

Opportunity for improvement!
I went to Pulau Jererjak on 24th March 2004. Personally I felt good about the first visit on the island. Yes, some areas are still dirty but I strongly believe that it could be better in the future. I will go there again with a group of my friends! :)

Read My Lines
Yes, Jerejak is beautiful, if it hasn't, I wouldn't have been there so many time. But why should we patronize the very same that destroy the heritage? At least, spend your money on the local boatmen who are willing to take you there....(which they have been doing for years and now being alienated!) Let justice takes it course. Greedy people should be punish....and if no authority is going to do it who will? People power man.....!! So, heed my words and read my lines. Ciao forest

Give Jerejak a Chance
I completely agree with the shocking pictures presented by Forest, though I presented a more aesthetic look of Jerejak, at http://www.asiaexplorers.com/jerejak/index.htm

All the damage you see is real. However, instead of discourage people from visiting Jerejak, tell them to come and see for themselves. Now, for the first time, Jerejak is open to all travel enthusiasts, including the aged and the disabled.

What else can we do? We can write to the papers, talk to the press, talk to the government, anything, as long as we do what we can to give Jerejak a chance to survive.

Agreed, dun go there. I was hoping this 2 b a good trip, seeing they promoted Jerejak as a 'natural' place... but everything i saw is purely rubbish... u can find any sort of rubbish there... i'm so ashame 2 b a Penangite... I tot at least i can see 'some' really good nature back there, but no... all man made thing... sigh... this is da 1st time i heard an isle resort built on an rubbish-surrounded isle.

I walked around the south part of Jerejak which is full of rubbish... I climbed Jerejak's 2nd highest peak, nothing else but a lot of soil erosions here & there due 2 some so called 'development' thing... Or mayb i missed something?

What do we hv left in Pg? :(
