… of the chapel. There are no seats or pews. The lower parts of the walls all around are covered with authentic 18th century blue and white azulejos (patterned tiles) to a height of perhaps one and a half metres. That’s the only simple touch in the entire chapel. Photography was not allowed, because flashes will damage gold leaf. I won’t tell you how I managed to get these photos, only that I used high speed film and a monopod, with no flash for any of them.
