Geraldton is located 424 km north of Perth (via the Brand Highway), and is the largest town in the Central West region. Geraldton is the seaside resort for the wheat farmers from the dry hinterland.

HMAS Sydney Memorial is situated on Mount Scott, overlooking the town.
